Some medical conditions may be covered automatically when the requirements in the Policy Wording are met. Other conditions must be declared and accepted by the Medical Screening Service. An additional medical premium or special terms may apply.

If your health changes between purchasing your policy and starting your trip, you must notify the Medical Screening Service so that your cover can be reassessed.

Single Trip Travel Insurance FAQs

Single Trip Travel Insurance provides cover for one specific holiday, using the destinations and travel dates shown on your policy schedule. It can protect against eligible unexpected costs such as cancellation, emergency medical treatment, lost or stolen belongings and travel disruption. Cover limits depend on whether you select Silver, Gold or Platinum cover.

Depending on the cover level selected, Single Trip Travel Insurance can include up to £10 million emergency medical cover, £10,000 cancellation cover, £5,000 baggage cover, £2 million personal liability cover and benefits for eligible travel delays or missed departures. Limits, sub-limits, conditions and exclusions apply, so check your quote and Policy Wording before purchasing.

Covered2Go Single Trip Travel Insurance can cover one trip lasting up to 365 days. The maximum duration available will depend on factors including the traveller’s age, destination and eligibility. Your policy start and end dates should correspond with the dates you leave and return home.

Covered2Go Single Trip Travel Insurance is available for travellers up to age 99, subject to eligibility and any required medical screening. If you are taking several holidays, Annual Multi-Trip Travel Insurance is available up to age 85.

Consider buying your policy as soon as you book your holiday. Your policy travel dates should match the dates you leave and return home, but eligible cancellation cover begins from the date the premium is paid and the policy is issued. Waiting until shortly before departure could leave your holiday costs unprotected in the meantime.

Yes, Single Trip Travel Insurance can cover cancellation or curtailment when you are unable to travel or need to cut your holiday short for an insured reason. Covered2Go provides cancellation cover of up to £2,000 with Silver, £5,500 with Gold and £10,000 with Platinum cover per insured person. Not every reason for cancelling is covered, so check the Policy Wording for the full terms and exclusions.

Cover may be available for a wide range of pre-existing medical conditions following medical screening. You must provide accurate information and declare medical conditions where required. If a condition is accepted, an additional medical premium or special terms may apply. You must also report relevant changes in health between purchasing your policy and starting your trip.

Single Trip Travel Insurance can provide cover for eligible UK, European and worldwide holidays. You must select the geographical area that includes every destination on your itinerary, including relevant stopovers. If you are visiting the USA, Canada or the Caribbean, make sure you select a worldwide area that specifically includes those destinations.

You may need to select additional cover depending on your holiday plans. Cruise Cover, Winter Sports Cover, Golf Cover and cover for certain business activities or higher-level sports and activities may require an additional premium. Select the relevant option before travelling and check that it appears on your policy schedule.

Yes, a GHIC or valid EHIC is not a replacement for travel insurance. It may provide access to eligible state healthcare in participating countries, but it does not normally cover private treatment, emergency repatriation, cancellation, lost baggage, travel disruption or personal liability. When travelling in Europe, it can be sensible to carry both a valid GHIC or EHIC and suitable travel insurance.

Single Trip Travel Insurance may suit you if you are arranging cover for one holiday, travel occasionally or need cover for one longer trip. Annual Multi-Trip Travel Insurance covers multiple eligible holidays during a 12-month policy period and may be more convenient if you expect to travel several times. Compare the total cost, destination area and maximum trip duration before deciding.

Changes to your travel dates may be possible for dates up to two years from the original policy issue date, provided you have not travelled, made a claim or become aware of circumstances that may result in a claim. Any amendment is subject to acceptance and may affect your premium or policy terms. Contact the Covered2Go team before travelling to request the change.

A policy excess is the amount you may need to contribute towards an eligible claim. The standard excess is £75 with Silver cover, £50 with Gold cover and nil with Platinum cover. Different terms or sub-limits may apply to individual policy sections, so check your quote, policy schedule and Policy Wording.
