Single Trip Travel Insurance – Compare Cover & Get a Quote

Planning a holiday – whether it’s a weekend city break, a beach escape, or an adventure abroad – is exciting. But unexpected issues like cancellations, illness, delayed flights or lost belongings can quickly disrupt your plans. That’s why having single trip travel insurance in place from the moment you book is so important.

A single trip policy provides protection for a specific journey, supporting you before and during your trip should something unexpected happen.

What is single trip travel insurance?

Single trip travel insurance (sometimes called single trip holiday insurance or one-trip travel cover) protects you for one defined trip, from your chosen start date until the day you return home.

It may be suitable if:

  • You take one main holiday a year

  • You want cover tailored around a specific destination and trip length

  • You prefer not to take out an annual multi-trip policy

Single Trip Travel Insurance FAQs

Single Trip Travel Insurance is ideal for those going on a one-off holiday. If you plan to travel more than once, you may be better off with an annual policy, rather than organising separate single trip policies every time you travel. Single Trip Travel Insurance can cover you and those travelling with you, for up to 365 days a year. If you are organising travel insurance for anyone else in your travelling party, ensure to add them to your policy by choosing either, a couple’s policy, a family policy or a group policy.

If you are thinking about purchasing a Single Trip Travel Insurance policy, you may need cover for taking part in extra activities. Winter Sports Cover is important to add to your policy if you are going skiing or snowboarding, as it will provide additional benefits, including cover if your ski equipment is lost or damaged. Similarly, with Cruise Cover, it is essential to add to your policy if you are going on a cruise for cover to be provided, this also provides additional cover benefits, such as missed port departure and cabin confinement.

We provide cover for many Sports and Activities, such as, water skiing, trekking and zip lining. Over 90 sports and activities are covered as standard, and for an additional premium, we can cover those that are a little more hazardous!

Yes, our single trip travel insurance policy provides cover if your trip is cancelled or cut short in certain circumstances. This may include cancellations or curtailments due to unforeseen circumstances. Full details of what is and isn’t covered can be found in the Policy Wording.

You can review all our policy documents to find out which one would be most suited to your needs.

Covered2Go offers three levels of travel insurance. These are Silver, Gold and Platinum. With our Platinum policy, there’s a Nil Excess, and Cancellation Cover up to £10,000 per person.

However, if you’re likely to take multiple trips within a year, Covered2Go Annual Multi-Trip Travel Insurance could be a more cost-effective and convenient way to stay covered.

Yes, we can amend travel dates up to 2 years from the issue date of your policy, provided you have not travelled, not made any claims, and have no circumstances which may lead to any claims.
